to the OP there is no such thing as a S550 AMG. if you saw that on his car he put the AMG on his ride. its always something like s55 amg or s65 amg or s63 SL63 etc. etc. and a s550 is only like 90-100k not 12 times the cost of our cars.

A friend of mine has a S550 AMG. Not that big of a deal. I am more impressed with the S65 AMG. For those who don't know it, it's a V12 Twin turbo.

Uuuuuu, NO. You can buy the AMG package which includes the bigger brakes, I am not sure how many pistons they had, and a few other extras like exhaust and such. I have seen it myself and even the calipers say AMG on them, identical to the S65 AMG calipers I have seen on an S65. He got the car brand new and it is listed with the AMG package. I believe my eyes.
Apparently the S550 has an AMG package for it.
