How do the AWDs do in the snow with summer tires??

Can't wait for my first snow ride in the G =]

Nope swapped my rear tires for some new good years 2 months ago. Fronts are not oem neither

AWD does the same as any other car with no traction.

In terms of safety and performance your ability to stop and steer is paramount and AWD does nothing for either.

Take this from a G35x owner who has primarily driven AWD vehicles for over a decade in the upstate NY snow belt.

back to OEMs:

well yea.. AWD has nth special under the snow... it's just better when we start moving the car.... so it's still unstoppable no matter summer or snow tires.... but on highway... ( last year i almost got killed @) you dont wanna go over 60km/h with the summer tires ( i tried 100 km/h last year and the car almost lost control) so im thinking of a winter setup ^^ as im waiting for my new rims + new tires (and sell my F14)

We have had two G35xs (an 04 and an 08 x Sport) but the closest iv driven either of them with a summer tire was the bald all seasons on the 08. That got really sketchy accelerating...

How do you clear the snow off the car?

With a snow brush lol Or do what I do and take it down the interstate.

first snow of the season.. I wasnt even there to experience it.. being at college without my car blows but hey, at least my dad moved it before a massive tree fell into the spot it was in before

You couldn't bring your car to college? That sucks LOL

well not really. First of all there are like 3 schools that you are allowed to bring a car to freshman year. And second, I go to Syracuse, incase you dont know, we got 72 inches of snow last year, I would be able to drive my car for like a month out of the year and if I tried to drive in the snow I would get stuck because of how low it is and it would get the **** beat out of it from driving people places, parking in sketchy spots.. I think im just going to buy a used jeep to use here.
