Track Day...givin' the X a work out it deserved
Always wanted to test the functionality of the AWD on the G, I mean really test it! The snowy roads don't do all that engineering justice.
So I brought the X to the track...I have a completely new found respect for this machine of a car. Nissan/Inf really did their homework here and this thing hauled ***. The AWD system is rock solid and I never expected to handle and perform so well. The paddles really made life easy too, very happy I installed those. I tried so hard to get her to spin and try to lose control but this thing just held and corrected where it needed.
Also, these pics will show off the new front lip I put on, which I must say is a MAJOR addition to the looks, and if anyone's debating getting one, don't, "just do it... do it... do it"!

thanks guys,
yes you're allowed to drift on the track, if you can.
the X can't drift, at least I couldn't make it drift, as the power gets reduced on the rear and sent to the front when a slip is detected.

Nice Johnny! Where did you go!? I wanna track my car! hehe
Congrats on getting the lip on and having a chance to track an X. Did you keep the VDC on or did you turn it off when you tried to drift it?
btw, considering racing brake rotors. Thats what I have. No complaints so far. I like em.

Wes:
Hey Wes, I went to Mosport in Bowmanville (just east of Pickering/Ajax/Oshawa).
I remember you and Ian had those racingbrake's, that's exactly what I was thinking...Just need to know which pads to get, I'm looking for low dust as my current pads are brutal for the mess and brake dust blows all over the car and starts to rust up, forcing me to claybar every 6 months. Considering Hawk ceramics. Do you have slotted or crossdrill+slotted rotors?
I tried VDC on and off, and found my times were much better with VDC on. The car just wanted to spin out without VDC and too much effort was put into trying not to. VDC did all that thinking for me and I just had to worry about gearing, racing line and steering. The paddles were a big hit for me personally. Felt like Schumaker!
The Kumho tires sucked, the treads really starting ripping apart after a few laps. Definitely not track approved tires.
The lip came out great, pain in the a$$ to install I gotta say, felt like I was in kindergarten cutting out all those shapes. But it paid off, looks 10x better IMO.

^Funny guy...
there were a wide range of cars there, from the new M3 to that little ol red honda. It was a time attack (racing against clock) and the little honda was getting in the way.
