good idea i was going to do that originally but i thought it wud be to much work..show some pics of how u ran it if u can
Ok so here are some very rough pictures. They were taken in the garage that has sodium vapor lights so the color balance is way off. I'll get some more pictures later.
Lights off

zip-tied to the front bumper. I literally threw them on and haven't even gotten to cut the tails of the zip ties. The zip ties are barely tightened but the strip is held securely. And yes my front bumper has been owned by 6 years of rock chips.

As DRL's (they aren't that blue in person...the color balance is way off)

There is a bit of a difference between the tints of the LEDs and the stock 4300k HID bulbs. Perhaps 6000k bulbs will match better...

As you can see, they are decently bright and have a wide viewing angle.

Zipties are the mini 4" ones
Here is a very brief DIY:
Zip tie the LED strips to the front bumper mesh. Run the wire of the right LED strip to the left LED strip and join the wires (not end to end but run the end of the right LED strip wire into the front of the left LED strip wire). With the long free tail of the left LED strip, run it from the front bumper into the engine bay through this hole (along with a thick cable that is already present)

Run it along the side of the engine bay

I have the ground wire connected to a bolt that holds on the front quarter panel (circle) and connect the positive to a longer black wire that you will run into the cockpit. Continue to tuck the new wire along the side of the engine bay. There is a small gap between the car frame and the front quarter panel that you can run the wire (90º bend of arrow). You are running the wire between the front quarter panel and the plastic wheel well arch.

The wire will come out of a hole in the A-pillar. Use a flashlight and shine it into the gaps so you can see where the wire needs to go. Hide the wire under the rubber trim and then bring it into the cockpit right next to the fuse box. Connect the wire to the fuse for the 15A power socket and you're done. The LEDs will have power whenever the car is on.

i havnt had any problem so far but i'll be hooking mine up to a switch very soon because these turn heads everywhere and im sure it'll just be a matter of time before it turns theirs.....
I don't know about California but there is nothing illegal about these. Technically they are just an added foglight. I doubt the cops could ticket you for something that looks stock.
also ^ thanks for the clarification. Some cop in fremont kept following me around with these turned on at 8am lol. Even changed two lanes to make a U - turn to follow me but stopped after i turned into my school.
