I was referring to the LED strips being hard to match.. It's not going to be the exact same temperature rating.. You can get HIDs from 2 different companies and their 6000k's aren't going to be the same.. That's why it's best to stick w/ the same company when trying to match temps.

So I finally got my LED's and I'm so excited but the wires running from them are not long enough to run into the fuse box, they can only make it into the engine bay. So what wire can I tap in the engine bay that will receive power all the time and where is it located? passenger or driver side?

No no no no no... You route them simply to the side marker lights.. Just splice into those lights.. This way, your LEDs will come on w/ the side marker lights as well.. I wrote a DIY in my blog..

The side markers come on when you do the first click of your lights control.. I turn mine on to drive all the time.. That's the 2nd thing I do after getting the car started (first is the seatbelt.. gotta be safe.. HEHEHEHEHE) There's no lights that just automatically come on when the car's running..

It's going to take some manual interraction on your part.

But then can't I tap it onto something else so it does go on whenever the car is one? something that has to get power, the D/C power things. That's why I wanted to go to the fuse box but since I don't have enough wire length I wanted to see if there was a wire I could go off of in the engine bay

^ if you want them to come on whenever the car is on do like I did. Run them to a switch inside the cabin and leave the switch in the on position the whole time. When you turn the car off you can leave the switch on but the lights will shut off, and when u turn the car back on they'll automatically be on since you left the toggle switch turned on

But the wire length isn't that long, am i really going to have to solder extra length for them or can i just tap something in the engine bay, or should i always have a way to turn them off
