I have a scratch on my right hand door and front fender. They were there when I purchased the car. I was looking at another thread and the OP was using paint from Here

What method would you recommend to repair these areas? I was planing on getting the touch up paint in the aerosol cal with the clear coat. I would mask the areas off to be repaired, sand lightly with 800-1000 wet/dry paper, prime, then paint, and lastly clear it. I am open to suggestions.
