Chicago Members Beware Infiniti Goldcoast
HI All,
Just wanted to inform members in the region about an experience I had with Infiniti Goldcoast. In April I purchased a G35x from the dealership (then Fletcher Jones). This November, my wife and I were driving cross country and had a flat tire. After roadside assistance arrived we discovered the car had no lug nut lock key. We were towed to a garage (at about 6 pm) and called the dealership for advice. The service manager, Joelle, told the mechanic to "do anything he had to" to remove the lug nut and told me to bring the car to a dealer at my destination and they would cover the repair.
When we arrived, we found a local Infiniti dealership and called Joelle. He made arrangements to have: the tire replaced, the damage wheel replaced, the damaged wheel sensor replaced (from the hammering on the lug nut). When it came time to pay the $1200 bill he asked me to put it on my card and promised a check within a week.
Over a month went by and no check. Called several times until Joelle stopped answering the phone. I then called a sales manager who said it wasn't their responsibility but they would "try to help me out" I explained there was no "helping me out" as they agreed to the repair because of their prep mistake. No check ever arrived and I was out $1200.
Finally, I called a senior VP at Infiniti (the consumer affairs division said it was between me and the dealership and did not actively assist me) who got involved and I was finally reimbursed - from Nissan, not the dealership. Bottom line - I will buy another Infiniti but will NEVER shop at Gold Coast Infiniti or Luxury Motors near Chicago and I warn you to be careful.

i bought my extended warranty there just a few weeks ago and they treated me kind of shotty. maybe because i still look and dress like a college kid, i dunno. either way, i felt no respect and they made no eye contact. i won't be going there either.
guy there won't give me a quote cause he said if he can't run my credit ... he can't give me a quote and that if i wasn't able to allow him to run my credit ... i wasn't interested enough to get the vehicle ... luckly ... other dealers around here were nice enough to give me aquote w/out running my credit until i was really ready ...
