Re: Omaha G35 owners

I'm considering a G35, but have to get the better half to agree to it. Having said that, how is Infiniti of Omaha/Reagan Infiniti (whatever they are going by these days) to deal with? I'd most likely buy a used sedan, and getting decent service is a concern. Thanks for any input.

Reagan Infiniti has been very good to me . I have a Vortech SC on the car and they dont seem to care and have also helped me get a little more out of the AT5 tranny

Re: Omaha G35 owners

Whats up. I'm a proud new owner of a 03 Red G35 coupe, 6MT, 14k miles, loaded - navi, brembo, aero/spoiler, etc. etc. Just licensed her last Friday. I'm 22 and have lived in Omaha for the past 4 years.

I initially went to Reagan Infiniti and looked at the 2004s...they have tons in stock and their sales reps were very knowledgeable and helpful. I was jonesing for a blue/black leather G35, but the only one at Reagan was an auto tranny. Plus a new G35 wouldve really but me in a money crunch...so I went used.

I perused the local used car dealerships and found "the one" at Lexus of Omaha...but seeing $36k on the sticker for a 2003 was waay to steep. I found a red 03 auto tranny with a few less options at Markel Ford, which I almost pulled the trigger on. On a whim, I called a contact I have at a used car dealership in my hometown (Auburn, NE) and, by some act of God, Lexus of Omaha was selling the exact car I test drove at a wholesale auction in Kansas City, I assume because no one was biting on their price tag. Anyhoo, I ended up buying the car for waay less than what Lexus was asking for it. I still have the Lexus of Omaha oil change sticker on the windshield.

I don't really have any plans on modding my G right now, but it's definitely something I'm considering. All I've done is bought a K&N air filter.

Maybe we can all get together for drinks sometime and show off the G35s. I have only personally seen 2 other G35 coupes in Omaha - one identical to mine (red,w/spoiler) and a black one also with a spoiler.

One funny/semi frustrating thing that happened to me is when I got my license plates, I noticed that there weren't any screws in my rear license plate holder. So I went to Home Depot, O'Reilly's, AND Ace Hardware and wasn't able to find a single frickin screw to fit the license plate holders. I know I'm not stupid and I know the size of machine screws I need... I'm seriously about ready to duct-tape the damn license plate to my bumper. Heh.

Re: Omaha G35 owners

Hey Guys
My wife and I just purchased an 04 coupe6mt. It's ivory pearl with willow, premium, and aero. Bought it on Monday, Reagan has had it for past two days getting clear bra, paint protection, and interior protection. It's hard to give up a new toy for two and a half days out of the first week of ownership. I get it back today, but am going out of town for the weekend. UHG! I want to drive it. Next week going to try and set up appointment to get the windows tinted. Any suggestions where to go?

Re: Omaha G35 owners

To see the mods to the laser, go to the general coupe forum and on 10/26 I relplied to topic "AWD conversion". I have a couple posts on there - its the last one. Keep in mind it is not a street car. However, it very well could be and still be just as fast and faster. Read the mods - the ones I could remember when listing them the other night - and let me know if you have any questions.

Probably too late this year, but next year when the weather gets nice we should try to set up a G35 get together for all the owners here in town.

Re: Omaha G35 owners

I was just thinking the same thing , when I read your first post . You have been the only one so far that seems to be into modding cars though . I was able to get the G35 into the 12's [12.98] with a 108mph trap at Scribner last month. I broke a piston on the next run . Rebuilding now...with Pistons , rods , cams ,smaller pulley . SGP in houston is building the short block and HPmotorsport [36th & Lst ] is pulling the motor and reinstalling . Ive been without the car for a month and Im getting antsy . But the colder weather is going to put a damper on breaking in the new motor

Re: Omaha G35 owners

HOLY SHMOLY! 12s is pretty quick! Sounds like your spending some serious dough on it. Our G will never be moded in that way - wife - nothing more to say. I might be able to get her to let me do some minor things. I'd like to hear what your car sounds like with the cats and headers. It will never be fast though But that's OK cuz I get to drive fast leagally and safely in the laser. If our G was fast I'd just end up getting in trouble - ahem, again! I had a lot of problems when I was younger. I've had some pretty quick cars and at one time I had seen every traffic judge at the courtehouse. The last time I was there I was threatened with jail time. They look at your whole record going clear back to 17yrs old and bring it all up many years later. Anyway, '96 is the last ticket I got for anything major and I want to keep it that way. I'll have enough trouble behaving in the stock G. Heck, I have trouble behaving in my stock Dodge Ram with a HEMI. It's fun to beat a kid in a loud import with my huge heavy truck. I ran it a Schribner once. 16.27 @ ?mph. I can't believe these guys with cars that are slower than that think that they are fast just cuz they have loud exhaust.

Anyway, made any vette guys mad from a light?

Re: Omaha G35 owners

my G is plenty fast for me. are any of you guys planning on driving your G35s during the winter? Personally, i'm not. If i could afford a 2nd set of rims with all-weather tires, i might consider it. Anyway, while my G is in the garage this winter, i plan on putting in a playstation 2 and maybe lower it an inch with some stiffer springs, just to make it look a little meaner.
