Any one know what type of radar the I llinois $tate p olice use? Whats the best rada r detector for c hicago area?

 

Most IL cops are using radar guns. I have yet to see LIDAR being used around here except for one time in my hometown of Naperville.

My recommendation: Escort Passport 8500. About $200 on eBay, $300 new. I have it and have yet to get a ticket.

If you're going to spend $300 on an Escort, cough up the extra $99 for the Valentine One. It's been rated the best radar detector by Car and Driver for the past 5 years. I've got one in my coupe - not the prettiest detector, but by far the most effective.

 

Actually, the V-1 has been rated the best by C&D in each of their tests since the first time the V-1 trounced the runner up (87 vs. 54 out of 100) back in 1992!

well you know your sh^% i will give you that. Like Gordgee was saying get the V-1. It is the best no debate.
