Re: Construction
They just seem to be moving interestates and widening everything down here in Indy. Just wait, it is going to get much worse once they start the I-69 extension to Evansville and the I-69 widening from 116th to I-465. Oh yeah, I-70 is being moved a few hundred yards for so they can build the new airport terminal and then they plan on building a runway over the interstate, so, I-70 is pretty much screwed for the next few years and then the southside and northside are screwed once they start with I-69. I almost forgot, they are supposed to be widening I-465 on the Northwest side also from Rockville Road to I-65 I think, that should start next year too. I can't wait for all this road construction to start, it should be a real fun next 2-4 years.

Re: Construction
Here's my biggest gripe about road construction. I sell Real Estate in Northern Chicago suburbs and whenever, and I do mean whenever I have clients in the car and am running late, there's a major hold up due too traffic construction. That's not all though, your in the car with your clients, patiently waiting and when the traffic does finally move and you drive past the construction, you see about 20 blokes just chatting? No-one is working, apart from the obligatory guy who's pushing a shovel? Then comes the bloke with the stop sign, you roll down your window too ask them what the hold up is and he tells you a load of bollocks about how important a job they are doing? important? How can they tear up every North/South and East/West road at the same time and no-one is doing any work? To top it all off, there's always some **** in the car in front who misses his/her chance too go so before you know it they bloke with the Stop sign has stopped us again?
(VENTED!!!)..now I feel much better.

Re: Construction
You have no idea:

This is what I get to look forward to for the next few years! December 2006 is the scheduled completion date, but as we all know it will be 2007 when finally done.
It's just a mess down here in Peoria. My car was only 1 week old when a huge (and I mean huge) rock bounced over a concrete partition and landed on my hood. I have rock chips like you can't believe, and I don't follow people close at all. Now I just received a nice little "gift" on my windshield.

Re: Construction
Sorry to hear it. That is a real drag. One thinks that the commute in the winter will be worse because of the weather but it is always worse in the summer because of the construction. And that damage to the car? Never ending. You wonder how trucks can be on the streets when they are spilling out rocks and stuff.

Re: Construction
I-65 will be clear and I-465 will be clear of construction during the racing season I pretty sure. So, I would just come down 65 to 465 south to Crawfordsville road. That is the easiest way if you're coming from Chicago in my opinion. I think that most of the construction on 465 on the westside starts after August.
