Michigan MEET/TRACK day 4/3

4/3 first meet of the year. ALL G35's and 350Z's

we will all meet at buffalo wild wings in Novi around 12-1pm. (huge parking lot, kinda like fairlane mall only nicer area). we'll hang around eat check out other cars whatever until around 3-3:30pm. around that time we'll all head on down to the dragstrip in Milan for some more fun until roughly 8pm when the track closes. (a row of z's and g's will cause some major traffic problems....cant wait!) then we all go home. a few of the people going to the track are going just to watch, so you dont have to race if you go. but its a good rush.

we are spreading the word to g35 owners as well 350Z owners.

ill give you directions to bww in novi a little later if your interested in this meet, and you can get directions to milan at http://www.milandragway.com

(about 50 mins from Novi i believe)

So far, we have 30 people registered to attend... so if only 15 of them show-up, that would be great!

Let me know if anyone is interested. get back to me......asap.

Is there a cost? If I can free up the weekend I may head over for it. I have a sister in Plymouth. Do we need helmets?

Re: Michigan MEET/TRACK day 4/3

we'll meet up at bww in novi. they have a huge parking lot and the cost is zero. unless you plan on eating, then it all depends on how hungry you are.

when we get to the track. the cost is $20 to race and $10 to watch. if you just want to watch at first and then later on you want to race, all you have to do is go up to the counter and pay the difference.

as for helmets. if your car is running consistant 13's you'll need one. atually, if your car even has the potential of running 13's, make sure you bring a helmet. they might be picky on opening day. if your running 11's (i dont think any of us have that problem), then you'll need a roll cage. im not sure, but i dont think they rent out helmets at the track. thats it though.

Ramborami, I'm in for my 1st meet... Looking forward to meeting local G'ers; I'm w/i 5min of BWW's in Novi. Not sure of my participation for Milan; need to know more, still got my 17" snows on.

Re: Michigan MEET/TRACK day 4/3

Rambo-

Tx for the reminder to get my Pilots back on... I had intended to swap out my snows last weekend, but ended up getting a new tie-rod installation/service instead [long story, I'll tell you more at the meet ]

Anyway, who did you use to swap snows w/ summers? I used this performance shop in Wixom (A+ rated per Tirerack). They balanced and mounted new winter tires onto 17" rims for $100. Their work was exemplary and professional; the cost is not necessarily expensive but it isn't cheap either.

Re: Michigan MEET/TRACK day 4/3

ah, i see, well, i used my garage to swap tires hehe
it took about a 1/2 hour to swap (had to jack each of the 4 corners) and then another 1/2 hour to clean the snows and put them away in my basement- where its cool+dry
Oh and another 15 minutes i spent on "picking" rocks from inbetween the tread on the snows using a screw driver.

FUN!
