Most of these are from the car clubs in Met Council and not all have been posted to MyAutoEvents yet. Here's some others to plan for, including a few in Eau Claire, WI (worth a drive from twin cities):

Wuss!!!

Kidding! It all depends on how hard you drive the car and the course. Most of the autocross events give you about 8 60 sec runs. That's far less wear than a full track day and less wear than some people do in a weekend of hard back roads driving. If you do it a few time a year you'll barely even notice the tire wear and unless you push things over the limit you should not have any problems with the car breaking or anything. You can always try it out and go slow for your first few runs and then slowly push it till you feel comfortable.

I've ran my car quite a few times, but now that I have a kart I do tend to run that when I can since the tires and parts are cheaper. However, that's only because I've been doing it for a number of years and more than just one or two. Also, I don't have a problem jumping back in the car if karts are not allowed.

Really, a single autocross day is not going to kill your car and you are in full control of how hard you push it. Give it a cautious try sometime, or just watch an event to get a better feel for it. You may even get to talk to some guys on their perspective and maybe get a ride along.

I'd love to do something like this. What are the entry fees? Requirements?

Many good points nate. It's all on how you drive it. I have friends that drive they're cars on a daily like that and some that change tires every eight to twelve months. to me, thats way worse than to designate a weekend to do all the things our cars were designed to do!

at any rate. I payed $50 for the weekend. Lunch included on sunday's race day. Its well worth it to me. I've been to a couple races and the atmosphere is awesome. i love the smell of gas and rubber! -lol
