Hey guys,

I just wanted to gauge if anyone was interested in a Duluth summer cruise? I'm guessing most of you reside in the city so I worked up a route that could work as a grounds for discussion. There's a lot to do in Duluth and the scenic drives are great. I was thinking this trip would be ideal for Mid-June or even July (up for discusion). The weather is always near perfect here in the summer and i have no doubt this trip will be one to remember if we all get together.

First, you guys at the cities pick a meeting spot to regroup and head on over to Duluth (best if early).

Second, we could do two things:

(A) Once we arrive at Duluth we could have a BBQ on the beach in park point and just chill out -plenty of things to do there.

or

we could check in at a restaurant and eat at either Old chicago, Greenmill, Grandma's etc..

(B) After we eat we can hit up the scenic route that drives along the coast and stop along the way for photo-ops and such. Theres plenty of places to stop and park for pics -but most importantly, its just a fun route if you wanna roll your windows down and coast lake superior.

This is just a rough scheme but i thought i'd throw it out there!

Would this be a full weekend thing or a day trip? There is an Americinn up there that i stayed at last winter for snowmobiling, rooms were pretty reasonable if i remember correctly.

Do a saturday cruise thing then everyone head back on sunday.

If no one else wants to do this, id be down for a cruise with you. My aunt lives in Superior so i could crash at her house.

 

Yea, a weekend trip would be perfect -some hotels can be checked out for like 32 bucks! 40 at most.. thats what i did when i went to the meets in the cities. anyways, i'm game for meeting up with you whenever Janik -just lemme know when your around so ben and i can catch up with you.

If people decide to stay the weekend like the subbies do it then on sunday we'd have a whole day to cruise, BBQ, or just chill out by the beach!

C'mon guys! this would be a lot of fun -i took the twisty scenic drive last weekend and the sight of the cliffs leaning over lake superior was worth stopping for. I hope you guys can make it!

should we start a list??? maybe this will build some momentum...
