Just wondering if anyone has HAD any good experiences with a particular place when getting your windows tinted. Bad experiences I guess are just as important too since I wanta stay away.

Mr. 50's on Western Ave. in Chicago Heights did a great job on my '04 Coupe. And they offer a lifetime warranty to boot.

I know a guy from work that his installed from there but I guess he was pulled over by the police because it was too dark. He's from Illinois. Make sure you know how dark you can have it beforehand.

 

Mine is a 35% tint. Speaking from experience, I wouldn't go any darker than that in the Chicago area.

 

Ultimate Driver in Mundelein does it. I was there today and they will do a G Sedan legal for $280.00 or all the way around except for the front for $310.00 which I thought wasn't a bad price. They outsource the work and a guy who's certified comes in to do it. They can do light, medium or dark. Most people get medium on the sides and dark on the back. They said they compared the dark to 8%, medium to 50%, and light to 35%. I don't know if they're blowing smoke or not but it seemed like it was cool. There was a Maxima there that they did darks on all the way around. You couldn't see into the car looking at it in the parking lot from within the store. Oh, and they said color tints of any kind other than black are illegal in Illinois.

first of all, medium should be 35% and light should be 50%. second, those prices are really expensive! i got all 4 windows tinted and the rear for $180 at pilsen auto glass in chicago. i live in vernon hills, so it was a bit of a drive, but worth it. they used madico tints and i got 21% all around. if you want anymore info, pm me because i hardly check this section.
