Reckless Driving Ticket in Colorado

I got pulled over today for doing 96 in a 55. The officer gave me a ticket for the speeding and also wrote me down for Reckless Driving. I was driving down a hill (trying to get to work) and didn't see the cop on the corner. I think he gave me the Reckless Driving since I was going over 40. But it was not in a neighborhood or school zone and there were no other cars around me.

Any advice? I was thinking about taking a safety driving course before going in-front of the judge. But I wasn't sure about getting a lawyer. Do they really help? I am more concerned about having the Reckless Driving on my record (since it is a criminal offense). And I'm not sure if the judge will remove that. I have heard of deals being worked out with the DA, but I wasn't sure if that would be possible in this case.
