Hey there, just recently picked up an '06 G35x and have been browsing the forums a little bit to learn more, but there is just too much info to take in at once!

Figured I would register and at least make some communication with other G owners in the Omaha area in case I run into some questions and can ask the locals for help.
I will continue to absorb as much as I can from this site and hope to eventually get into at least minor mods to my car.

I'm looking forward to being a part of this community, so feel free to hit me up with any info you think I should be aware of early on, or direct me to some other places I should be posting to introduce myself to the rest of the board.

Looking to tint my windows, any recommended shops in Omaha? Anything specific to ask for quality wise? If i just go for legal limit, my windows seem to be very slightly factory tinted or its the glass... if they put 20% on will it actually end up darker and become illegal or will they make it so in the end its 20%?

If i did 20% on front sides also, how much hassle would i get from police?

Mr tint is pretty good. I'd go with 35 the front doors and 20 the back and rear window.

Theres only one tint man I would EVER let touch my car (and all my other cars) and thats Rons Tint Shop. His number is 402-250-8734. His shop is waaaaaaaaaaay out in Blair, near the power plant, but its well worth the trip. After he tints your car, he gives it a detailing too. Not a major one, but a nice cleaning inside and out.

Give him a call. Hes tinted every car ive owned while living here (03 civic, 06 explorer, 07 camry, 08 xb, and my current 07 G). Never an issue with the tint, no bubbles, no runs, no haze, nothing...

And suffice it to say that mine is definitely dark....... (check out my pics)

I personally went to Sublime/Inphase for tint on my g sedan. He quoted me 170 on the phone for 35 front, 20 rear. When I got there, I asked if he could do 20 all around and he said it would be 20 more because it's illegal up front.

I was very impressed with the job they did, especially the rear window. They did it in one piece, where other places might try to do it in two. I've had it for several years and there has been no problems whatsoever. I would suggest them for anyone I know.

I've also never had any trouble from the cops, they don't even notice. If I were to do it again, I would probably do 15.

Hope this helps

I'll keep my comments to myself about those tinters. They are NOT affiliated with Sublime or Inphase. They just use the same building. When they first moved in there I made the mistake of using them to do the front windows on my explorer.... damn tint turned green in months. Granted that was years ago so maybe they stepped up their game, but based on that experience, I'd never go to them again nor send someone to them either.

Well that sucks for you, but I have had a good experience with them. My tint hasn't turned green, bubbled, faded, or started peeling. It still looks the same as the day they put it on.

Maybe they started using a different tint than before? I don't know, but to say they don't do good work is an inaccurate statement.
