NW Suburbs...
Hi fellow Illinoisians! I too am from the NW suburbs - Lake Zurich to be exact. I am going to buy my G within a few months and I'm dealing primarily with Motorwerks in Barrington. GForce, you said you ordered a G35C from Fields in Libertyville. Can anyone share their experiences with me as to which dealer to buy from? Opinions on ease of doing business, price, dealing and negotiating, service, etc,. I would appreciate any feeedback!

Re: NW Suburbs...
I've liked working with Fields in Libertyville very much. My salesman, Greg Robinson, has been very professional with a no-pressure approach. While I don't have a written contract to purchase the coupe (I have simply placed a $1,000 refundable deposit), they told me the price would be msrp or a few hundred under it. For the M6 coupe, I doubt any dealer will negotiate below this. Some dealers are trying to get over msrp for the coupes. Some of the bigger dealers do have unspoken automatic coupes coming in so there may be a little more room to bargain there (but not much since the coupe has been getting great reviews and IMO will be in great demand). I've heard Motorwerks is a very good dealer also to deal with.
Hey Coolie, why type of extras did you negotiate and was it for a sedan or coupe?

If you have anymore questions chiphead, let me know. We went to Field's Infiniti in Glenview, also very nice people, but they wouldn't budge off MSRP.

Re: NW Suburbs...
Hey guys,
Thanks for the posts. I went to Infiniti.com and searched Fields inventory and sent one of those "inquire about this car with dealer" messages. A woman by the name of Kristie emailed me back. They were quoting $400.00 off list and would only do it over the phone, not through email. I don't want to waste time sitting in a dealership for more than an hour when I'm ready to buy. I deal with negotiation all day at work and I find car buying to be the least satisfying negotiation type int he world! Motorwerks quoted me $500.00 off list in a direct email reply to my inquiry. Motorwerks is close to my house, Fields is closer to where I work (Mundelein). I'm torn as to where to go. Also going to buy my wife a new SUV and thinking Mercedes ML320. We can buy both at Motorwerks under one roof. Fields I'd have to drive to different locations. Either way, I appreciate your feedback. This Greg Robinson you say is your salesman? I was actually given his card on a recommendation by a friend of mine at work who dealt with him. We'll see what I do and if MW has both cars we want at the same time or if dealing with Fields would be a better deal pricewise on my G.
P.S. - How old are you guys?

Re: NW Suburbs...
Coolie. Was the tax paid on your car based on where it's registered or do you know if it's a set rate for state taxes in Illinois. Also i called Infiniti of Orland (south suburbs) i was told they had 20 coupes coming in only two were 6 spd. rest were automatics. Ten hadn't been sold yet, saleman claimed they were told to sell them at msrp.
Re: NW Suburbs...
Hi, New to the forum. I live in Deerfield. And I've been waiting for 6months now to buy a coupe. First I wanted an 330ci then I wanted a IS300, but then I saw a g35c and fell in love with it. Anyways, I think that if you wait until december, you would be able to get it just a little over invoice price. The car is hot, and when it comes out the dealer will not negotiate, but eventually they will not be selling all that much. Just like the IS300 and the G35 sedan. I went to test drive a sedan in the summer to Infinity on Golf Rd. and they just came out. The dealer wouldn't negotiate, now I can go there, and probably get it 500 over invoice. At least this is my wishfull thinking.
