hi, was wondering if any one knows of a good tint and clear bra place in chicago area, NW suburbs prefered. Ive heard of some place in Mundelien but i cant remember what its called. If any one knows of that place or any other, please let me know. also what are the legal tint percents allowed in IL?

No tint on the driver or passenger doors and I don't think there is anything regarding how dark the back window can be.

EnergyGuard does the tint for Motorwerks in Barrington....847-726-8468.

 

I had mine done at the tint shop in Mundelein, not a bad job, but I've heard some negative stories about the place, PM if you want the number.

Oh yeah, Front are nono , but rear and side what ever your heart desires.

 

Go to Mikes or Vuks tint shop in chicago, they do it all for about 140 buck with a lifetime warrenty. if you want more info PM me

 

I had my coupe done at Motorwerks. Cost an arm and a leg. However, I got a loaner and the confidence that the job would be done correctly and problems addressed. The tint was DARK on all windows, none on the windshield. The job was perfect.

For my sedan I found out the place that does the tinting for MW is north of 59 on 14, on the west side. I can't recall the name. I stopped in and was quoted $220. I am still having MW do the windows and clear bra. The extra money spent makes me feel more comfortable. But I am sure either way works.

 

What is the clear bra? It is just like the black bras but clear? Ask your local infiniti dealer they should recommend someone. Might be more expensive but quality will be better I am sure.

 

The clear bra is film overlayed onto the car. It does not come off (unless you eally try!) and it is supposed to keep the front looking nice. My 2003 coupe looked like a teenage boy! Pot marks everywhere. I decided to try the clear bra. So far, so good.

 

Thanks for the info on the clear bra.. So that is supposed prevent rock chips and what not. How much does that run? Also do you guys have any pics of your tints? What % tint did you guys use? If you guys do tint your front windows take a picture of the car before you tint with your plates showing. In case you do get a ticket you can go to court and show the pics and they will drop the ticket. It has happened to me before.

 

The clear bra was pricey - $500 or so for the entire front. Sorry no pics yet. I don't worry about the tint and cops.
