ChicagoLand G35 Question

Ok guys dont flame the noob too much for this. I will be moving to Plainfield later this year and want to know if the RWD G Sedan I have is a good thing. I have people telling me that it wont be a problem and not to worry about it then others say get rid of it cause you dont want the hassle when the weather gets crappy.

What are your thoughts? I love this car and have 0 problems with it right now, the alternative is a 06-07 Accord.
Thx in advance for any help out there.

Its going to suck but if you slap on some decent snow tires you will be just fine. But I highly recommend getting snow tires. A good set should cost you 450-800 dollars.....

Bridgestone Blizzaks are the most common snow tires amongst the winter drivers here and the best for Chicago winters. Buy some nice 20s for the summer and keep your stock wheels on the snow tires for easy swapping.

I have survived 4 of our winters with my RWD G just fine. Tires are EVERYTHING. VDC, ABS and if you have sport package the VLSD really work great in the snow. I feel safer driving my car in the snow than in a FWD car. I would recommend picking up a set of cheap wheels from here or the ebay/CL and mounting winter tires to them.

I just recently picked up my G35x. When I asked the dealer why he doesn't have too many Non-X flavors of the G he simply said "Yeah, they are like sleds in the winter so they don't sell too well."

Goodluck, be careful. Get a nice set of blizzaks and you should be alright

Yeah that's kinda what ive been thinking it will be like. Probably gonna sell it. Just don't want to hassle w a car that's not great in snow. Damnit never shoulda sold my TL.
Plus my G is lowered so I'll become a snow plow as well.

I live in Aurora...

and have an '07 G35S 5AT. It is totally fine in the snow with a set of Xice-2 tires. It is so flat around Chicagoland that RWD in the snow is no problem with snow tires.
