Re: Drag Way Meet
Not good. There was well over 400 cars/trucks/motorcycles there. I only got 3 runs in 3.5 hours. I also suck at this. My first two runs were timed 14.9 and 14.8. I couldn't get a good start. I raced a turbo mirage thingy and beat it - THANK GOD! I then raced a 1/4 mile hillbilly thingy that got a great start, but only stayed about 3-4 car lengths ahead. My final run was with a 2001 Cobra. Earlier, in another race, he missed third and still got 14. Needless to say he won. I may Dyno my car again and see what HP she is at. 14.8 is horrible. I was expecting 14.2-5. Well, my first attempts were atleast fun if not funny. I forgot to kill VDC on the 14.9 run, I left it in AUTO for the two timed runs. For the Cobra I ran manumatic mode and it seemed better, but without the time slip who knows? Practice, Practice, Forced Induction, Bingo!

Dude,
14.8 is not that bad in our car. It is a practice thing and with time you'll get better. considering there's no modified stuff on your ride the 14.8 isn't bad! Did you brake torque at the start? That would certainly improve your time if you didn't. A manual G and cobra, no race! Cobra hands down will take us every time. I have a neighbor with one and the thing is all engine! Has something like 395 HP at the wheels off the lot and if it's modded in any way, it will destroy. There was a recent write-up in an performace car magazine that i saw and it's stock 1/4 mi time can get down near high 12's.
Did you get your springs on yet? Gotta get the Stillen intake with the new 350Z duct. Duct should be here this week!!!! Now you need the intake. Don't bother yet with the pro-charger. Too expensive and not enough yeild. Only takes the car to 13's for Qmi!
See you soon Robert!
