When I had to wash I'd keep old gallon milk jugs filled with water to wash and rinse the car with so I didnt have to go to a cloth car wash.

OR, what I do on trips - - keep a small car wash kit with a small bucket in your trunk: two sponges, a small handsoap container with carwash soap in it, one microfiber cloth (for bugs) and my Absorber (it will all squeeze in the bucket for storage when not using it). Then find a coin-op self-wash when it's not crowded and go to town. Take 8 quarters, the ones around here are usually $1.00/5 mins. Fill up your bucket and rinse the car with the first $1...then sponge off dirt and bugs, finish up with your second $1. Dry. This method goes faster if you have a passenger that doesnt mind a 10 minute car wash with you (eh hem...recruit your girlfriend when she least expects it).

Waxing...do some arm stretching and just get out there and do it. Find a nice empty spot in the corner of Eigenmann's lot or something. Can you tell I'm a veteran at this crap? LOL
