Post Got it yesterday

Hello, just thought I’d say hello now that I’ve become an ‘official’ G35 coupe owner. Picked it up yesterday, and must have all of 20 miles on it! Remodeling and company coming will mean a couple of more days also without much if any miles. Plan to break it by slowing increasing the rev’s till about 1200 miles mol then get on it to redline. Have several small trips around the back roads of my area planned out.
Wife was leaning toward the Z/Crossfire route, but after looking around them and the lack of room, she was easily steered toward the G, which was my first choice anyway. I got to pick the car and she got to pick the color, so as marriage goes was a fair trade! I was very surprised when my son-in-law at 6’8” was able to get in okay. Opened the roof which gave him a bit more headroom, but if he had lowered the seat back a bit wouldn’t have needed the roof open. Didn’t let him in the driver’s seat, althought he was drooling!
Will be doing various mods after break-in period, by that time should have the time also to do them. Before any more miles it will be at the tint shop for tinting and a clear bra on the bumper, etc., then to the audio shop for a Sirrus install. Didn’t have the sat radio option on it, thank gawd, as didn’t want the ‘shark fin’ on the roof, instead will opt for the non-metallic film and the antenna on the rear shelf.
Been lurking around this site for the last few months, and can’t believe how much info I’ve picked up just by ‘listening’. Perhaps someday might even have something helpful to offer back.

Congrats on your new ride. I just got my 06mt 2 weeks ago. I also got the clear bra, but on the hood/mirrors only. They wanted an extra $500 for the bumper and front fascia.. I felt since its plastic it would fair better then the steel hood. Do you think this is sound logic?

After talking/reading with G owners, I decided against the clear bra. Was going to get it on the front bumber, but, like you, felt that the plastic would be better at not showing the damage than the hood and mirrors. After the price quote, decided to spend the bucks elseware. So sounds like you made the right choice, but I guess time (and some bad roads) will tell the tale. Also, thought the hood was aluminum, not steel. Anyone know which is the metal they used?

Whew! That was a close call. You could be driving a Crossfire right now.
