How should I break in my new G35 Journey
Hey there,
I am the proud new owner of a G35 Journey with Premium. (Plat Graphite / Graphite).
I want to take excellent care of this car. I have heard people say there are ways to drive the car in the first few hundred miles that can have an impact on its performance and reliability in the future.
I know NOTHING about this topic. Can someone help me on this?

As a reply to my own post, I just read the last thread about RPMs/ breaking the car in, and it sounds like there are some documented guidelines that are probably in my owner's manual to read....
yes there are a few threads and it is in the owner's manual. the general rule is to vary the rpms and keep it under 4,000 rpm for the first 1,200 miles. i have an 05 coupe, and assuming it's the same.

I'm somewhere in the middle. I won't be redlining it often or driving it particularly hard, but I am not afraid to get on it a little bit here and there.
I read an article from a motor guru that said run it VERY hard for the first 50 miles to seat the rings properly for better compression down the line. He said this was critical to future performance.
Do I believe that? Who knows. For me ignorance is bliss...
I'm not a gearhead in any sense of the word so I use the manual as a loose guideline because I don't know any better.
The real challenge for you will be to keep it under 4K. You'll have your hands full, trust me...
Enjoy your ride...
