Purchased 04 Coupe
Purchased 04 Coupe
Well it finally came time for me to purchase a new car. Finally turned 25 (cheap insurance) and saved up enough coin to do so.
It came down to a G35 coupe or a 350Z. Went with the G because:
1. 4 seats
2. Will be used as a daily driver (winter too)
3. Automatic (for the wife)
If I had enough coin to have a winter/daily vehicle, I would have gone with the Z and treated it like my baby.
Some of the disappointments:
1. The interior is cheap. For a 3-year-old car it has more then expected wear and tear (door handles, centre console, rear mirror). Even the key fob is worn out (cheap plastic buttons).
2. Exterior paint is cheap too. A few more scratches then I would expect, but I guess that's normal for a used car.
3. The car pulls to the right, even though the alignment is perfect. I better watch out for premature tire wear (feathering).
4. The breaks also have been replaced (recall). Hopefully the new ones will last longer or it could get expensive.
5. Interior rattles. Turn the stereo up a little and she rattles like crazy. I'm afraid to pump it for this reason.
6. The color orange. Don't like it for lighting. Anyone want to wire 100+ LED's for me?
What I'm impressed with:
1. The power and the sound of the engine. No other 2-door car comes close in HP in its class (next to the Z of course).
2. The price. Fit my budget.
3. The exterior shape and body curves. Very sexy!
4. Haven't had a real chance to see how she handles, but believe this too will be impressive.
