Hello All,

I have been checking out the forums here for the past few weeks, and I am very impressed with all of the knowledge that is available here. I am 32 years old and live in Nor Cal, east of Sacramento. Two weeks ago I was rear ended by another driver that was not paying attention to the stopped traffic ahead of him. Needless to say my TL was totalled.

As soon as I got word from the insurance company I started my search. I looked into the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, New TL's (Ugly) and then came across a 2004 G35X. I test drove the car, and knew that it was the car that I wanted.

At the time that I bought the car I had not gone through this forum to get all the info that I needed (X's appear to be pretty much impossible to lower), but besides that I was very happy with the design, comfort, and performance of the X.

My wife and myself were the last customers in the dealer and we were happy with the price that we picked up the car for. I am a little a little disappointed about not being able to lower the car at this time, but I hope that something comes out in the future that will make this possible.

I was able to keep the wheels from the TL and the ended up fitting on the new G. I liked the wheels better on the TL, but they will have to do for now. Since it looked like lowering was not going to be an option, I opted to go with BFG 235/50/ZR18's, to prevent any further wheel gap. I have included pics below of my new car. After a few days the Stock stance is starting to grow on me. I would prefer it lowered, but for now I like the look of it. Thank you all for the info that I have already recieved from reading through, and the advice that I will be asking for in the future.......

Sorry for the lengthy first post.......

Congratulations on your new ride and welcome to the site.
Thank goodness no one was injured in your car when you got rear ended.

The wheels look good on your X.

Update: X is in the shop

Thank you guys....

Well my TL was a 2000, so I could not afford at the time to make the upgrade to a 2007.

I do plan on lowering the X, I am still doing my research through this site to figure out the best way to accomplish this........

Update:

Right now the X is down at the Infiniti Dealer. I beleive it is the clicking Axles issue. I noticed a little clicking noise coming from the rear of the car when going slow out of my driveway or over bumps at a low speed. It sounded like something clanking in the trunk, but I checked that out.

I brought it back to the Toyota dealer where I bought it and they were not able to figure out what was causing the issue. I then suggested that it may be the rear axles, based on all of the posts here. They called Infiniti, about 15 miles away in Roseville, and now I am just waiting to hear back on when I will be able to get it back...

Sucks to not have my car after I just got it, but it is best to have them do the warranty work, while it is still covered......
