New G35S

Just picked up my G35 Sport 6MT last week. Premium, Navigation, Splash Guards, Cargo Net, and Trunk Mat. I ended up picking it up from Seattle even though I live in Portland (3 hour drive). The only dealer in all of Oregon wasn't interested in VPP. Beaverton Infiniti was very nice and gave me my test drive, but they esentially told me that they could sell every car they could get from Infiniti for a much higher price than VPP. Their loss, I had a great overall experience with Fife up in Seattle. Both Tony Talton and Sean Bowles were responsive and didn't play any games.

I love the car so far but keeping it below 4k rpms for the first 1,200 miles is absolutely killing me.

Congrats on the new purchase. Sounds like you had a nice little ride home! Glad to see someone else get VPP up here. With no local competition (Kirkland and Fife are owned by same folks) prices currently don't seem to go much below MSRP in this part of the country. Makes me feel like I'm getting a deal until I see what other's are paying in areas where there is local competition.

Yeah, I really thought I would have to go down to the bay area to get VPP but Fife came through. The one thing I would recommend is calling around for a clear bra. They wanted $1700 for the clear bra at the dealer when you can easily find a certified 3M installer with a full kit for $600-$700.

The waiting was rough. I originally ordered the car at the end of August and didn't get it until Dec. 21st. The 6MT aren't big up here, it seems like everyone wants a G35x. I know resale with the stick will probably kill me but at some point you have to buy the car you want and not worry about it.
