I got my 08 G35x 9 days ago, also coming from an 06 TL (6MT/Nav). I really liked my TL, but, even though it's a 5AT, I like my G much, much more.
Oddly, though, I'm able to keep my G within speed limits much of the time, unlike my TL, in which I frequently caught rubber in second. This may change after break-in, but I think my rubber-catching days are over on account of the AWD.
