Greetings from Japan...

This is a bit of a cross post from the " Where did you come from" thread... but I though it would be good to post a quick into here as well....

I am a ex-pat Canadian living in Sapporo Japan. I a Professional Photographer and have living in Japan since 2002...

My first car in Japan was a Toyota Celsior = Lexus LS-400...

That was followed by a Nissan Stagea = Skyline Wagon... This is a 2.5 turbo AWD AWS 280ps wagon that I changed ECU, intake, exhaust to arrive at 334ps - LOVED this car but...... Unfortunately I got T-boned about a month ago and wrote it off... By far was one of the best vehicles I have EVER owned...

Nissan stopped making the Stagea when the V35 changed to the new design ( this Stagea model M35 was the same FM frame as the V35 ) and I couldn't find either a newer one in decent shape so I picked up an '07 Nissan Skyline 250GT FOUR type P ( top of the line option package ) with only 7,000kms on it and will now start the inevitable upward climb to make it my own unique set of wheels...

FYI - the Skyline sedan ( V36 ) is only available with a 2.5 litre with AWD here in Japan but includes Super Hicas in the rear ( AWS )...

Here's a few shots of the previous wheels and a quick shot of the new sedan which I just picked up the other day... I have debadged it and have replaced the front grill emblem with an Infinity emblem.. The Manaray VR5 Exe sportline 19"s ( 19 x 8 @ +38 ) you see on the Stagea will go straight on the Skyline as soon as the snow is gone and I will decide at that time about springs etc..,

Any questions - let me know....

Don't let the fender mirrors throw you off - they are quite common on big sedans here that are used as company executive cars...

Stagea on a trip up North...

At night...

The new ride....

Cheers,

Hey Mike...

I reposted those pictures to my own site rather than Pbase.. Pbase sometimes is a little funky so these should be a little more stable because they are on my own space..

Cheers...

Hi Joker...

Thanks, I am particularly impressed with the drivability of the sedan although I continue to be surprised at just how stiff the stock suspension is...

No advance planning involved but I am surprised how the Manaray's I bought for the Stagea are so similar to the stock Skyline 17's and 18's... I'll be sure to post a pic once they are mounted...

Cheers,

Thanks All...

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone...

The lip is a Nissan factory or Dealer Installed accessory... All pre-colored of course and retails for about 45,000 yen or $ 400 usd... My Sedan didn't have it but I had them install it before I took delivery... Hadn't really seen any of these mounted but was VERY pleased to see how nice it looked when installed - - definitely improved the looks of the front end with how the center section comes up - nicer lines now...

You guys seen many of these babies up close and personal yet... I shot these last fall for a promo...

These are very spiffy wheels - factory GTR 20"

Updated Pics...

We had some decent but still cold weather here today but I thought that I would throw a quick coat of wax on the new ride and then update the shots from the other day...

The skyline is now de-badged and I have installed an Infiniti front grill emblem - looks much nicer.. I am waiting on the new Impul trunk emblem which should finish off the look I want...

Here you go - it's getting there but I need to get my 19's on as soon as the snow is gone....

Cheers,

Now THIS is what I call de-badged...

omg side marker lights!
I visited the Nissan place in Ginza in 06 December. That was when I decided I was going to get the G. Might I add, every place I've been to in Japan is extraordinary clean. Planning a trip again in 2-3 years, I love it there.
