Choice of wheel size

I just purchased a 2007 G35 Sedan (Serengeti Sand) and am looking at changing the wheels. It currently has 17". What would you recommend 18, 19 or 20" and why.

I am also debating on buying the HRE 540 wheels or the Volk SF winnings gold deep lips. what do yall think.

Bobby

it depends on what your going for. if its just for looks i think the 18's are out of the question cus i dont think it would be much of a difference . 19's or 20's would look really nice especially with a drop. look around the forums, you'll find many second gen g's droped on 19's or 20's mostly. anything over 20 would be overdoing it in my opinion.

just my 2cents =)

Go with at least 19 inches and 40 profile.

19s and 20s look awesome but the bigger you go the rougher the ride. You also have to be careful around rough roads or potholes with bigger wheels. If your road conditions are good go big. My conditions are not so I went from 17 to 18 for summer use. For me it is more practical and safer. It depends what you want.

because there are many many more wheels out there that are 20's instead of 19's, you can thank dub magazine for that, haha

but it kinda depends on the brand too, and/or width/profile selection

in my example, if I were to get tires, it'll be falkens FK452

http://www.citytireonline.com/FalkenFK452.htm

look at 245/35/20, it's only $105 each and to compare either 245/35/19 or 245/40/19, it's $148, $169 each X 4 = moolah that can be spent elsewhere
the 245 width for 20's are also cheaper than the 18's
