I just accepted delivery of a 2008 Platinum Graphite G35xS w/ Premium & Nav Packages in the DC area yesterday. Awesome so far and can't wait to open it up after the break-in period. Will try to post pictures soon.

Technically, this is the first car that I've ever bought (even though i've been driving for over 15 years). Glad to be part of the club.

If anybody knows any good clearbra installers in the DC/VA/MD area, I would appreciate some recommendations.

 

Congrats on the purchase! I had the clearbra done on my G couple months ago and the company did an amazing job. They are in Richmond so dont know if you want to make the trip down here but ill let you know about their info!

 

was it 3M or Venture shield? Either way, can you give more details around both? If 3M, was it the 3rd Gen material?

For your install, was it on the G35xS? and if so, how was the coverage of the template?

 

Mine is the avery film. I think its 1mm less in thickness compared to the 3M but because of this they can wrap it inside the hood and inner fender so you see no lines at all except where it ends on the hood. They give you the option of doing your whole hood and fender or just part of it. I have the 08 G35xS as well and when the installer came he had a precut sheet. When he lined it up on the car he wasnt happy at all. He was a perfectionist and didnt like the fact that you would see many lines because the pre cut kit wasnt the exact width of the part on the bumper next to the grill and headlight. So he ended up using his bulk sheet of film and custom cut the whole kit and it turned out great. Its a little bit more expensive than other places but its well worth it. It was 695 for mine but you do get a lifetime warrenty against defective material or installation error. I found that a bubble had formed the day after so I called them up and the installer came to my house in about a hour and reinstalled the piece with no questions asked at all.

You can get a G35xS with Premium and Nav for under $37K before tax, tags, fees, after taking into account the $500 rebate right now.

Thanks G, that's right around what I had in mind. If the G37 sedan becomes a reality, may consider trading in the 04X.

yeah, i got my G for 36,500 with the options i mentioned. pics are coming! it was bad weather all last week, and now am getting a clearbra installed, so will post pics after the car has been cleaned, waxed, etc for the bra either late this week/early next.
