Just got an 07' G35x

Last week thursday I traded in my 09' MINI Cooper for my G.
It's a used G35x w/22k miles Lakeshore Slate exterior, wheat interior. I only got one key unfortunately (but I see they're cheap on ebay)
I've had the MINI since only November, it's a quick little bugger, but not quick enough. I love the G, have been eyeing it for a few years.
I did buy it with a busted driver's side rear door, (door handle is broken, wont open the door and the handle isn't flush) but that's under the warranty, so I'll be driving a loaner as of tomorrow morning.
I will be doing my own oil changes and thought I'd ask about recommended manufacturer oil. or what the general concensus is to use in these machines. A friend of my owns an 03' g35 coupe and he said that for the vq35de, they found that castrol 0w-20 was the best (made in germany stuff).
I know there's a new version of the VQ in my car so I'm asking.
in case anyone cares: Before the MINI i owned a 00' Grand Am. which I modified beyond recognition. ( some engine work, 4 spd auto to 6 spd manual conversion, suspension, brakes, body kit, headlights, tail lights, PCM tuning, etc) http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2086755/3
but GM screwed thenselves with only 2 valves per cylinder and the pushrods, and these 3.4 engines had gasket issues ( i replaced mine twice and had the car for only 3 years). used to hang out on grandamgt.com. hope you guys are just as nice. on the GA i made my own projector HID's and LED tails. The G comes with all these. and then some.
As far as my first mod, I'm hoping to change out the accent lights for LED's.
And some tint closer to summer, I'm sure you guys know what the car looks like, but if you want pics, I can get those if you like.

Hey Tim, welcome to the group and congrats on the new ride. You may love it now, but you'll learn to LOVE it soon enough. ![Big Grin](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Yeah, we've all seen Lakeshore on Wheat, but we haven't seen YOUR Lakeshore on Wheat, so post em when you got em.
As for this forum, I started shopping for my car in early 2006 and was sold on the IS. I spent all my free time on www.lexusownersclub.com and thought that was the best of all the forums out there. The people there were super friendly and I made a lot of friends. If it wasn't for the crappy Lexus dealers in my area, I wouldn't be a G driver today. I'm damn glad it worked out the way it did.
This one blows that forum away. The people here are super friendly, there's a crap load of info, and be sure to check out your local section, found under "Forums-Regional" so you can find others in your local area as well.
I'm sure we'll see ya around.
