Hi all,

I'm Alex. Like the title says, soon to be a G35 owner. Hopefully I will be picking up the G next week. It's a 03 Silver/Black, 6MT, Brembo, Navi, etc... So far I've been browsing the site, and I can already tell it will be helpful understanding/learning more about the G. A lil about me, live in Northern VA, and have a passion for cars. Hope to meet some of you guys from the area.

Welcome to the site... i'd say drive the car a few times before you buy it... they're actually pretty damn slow.

Even though on paper they put ~300 to the crankshaft they're SLOW and you can put bolt-ons on them until you get goat cheese out of rocks and they'll still be slow... They sure look good parked tho lol

Good luck with your purchase on that G you've got your eye on. Make sure you utilize the search as much as possible before getting to the point of asking on a thread.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Thank you for pointing out the obvious too about using the search . I know how that goes, but I always do my research before I ask any questions.

Thank you, and don't worry, I am not getting the G as a race car. I know they're not fast, I used to smoke them with my DSM. I just like the car overall. And you are so right about them looking good!

 

So, I finally picked up the G. Left work on Wednesday afternoon, met with my boy later that night and headed up to Chicago. It was a nice but long road trip. Got to Chicago Thursday morning, getting impatient about seeing the car. Finally the owner called, and i went to meet with him, and the baby... Wow, my first impression. He had the car detailed, oil changed and a 100 point inspection done the day before. Looked around the car, I didn't find anything the guy had not mention. The car had barely 33k miles. He was an adult driver and the car had no signs of abuse. He had every single receipt of maintenance done to the car, even the window sticker.

All in all, I feel good with the car. I've seen some better deals out there, but I feel great with mine. Car description:
-'03 6MT Silver/Black
-Navi
-Brembos
-Aero package
-XM Sat radio
-Clear bra
-Leather bra bnib
-New tires
-Recent 30k mile maintenance
-All receipts
-4 keys, 2 remotes
-Full tank of gas (gas is going up)
-Garaged
-Still had the new car smell
-Total: $15,800, and a nice road trip.

On the way back form Chi, got the opportunity to open her up, and the ride was super nice. It rides very smooth and it picks up quick. Had some fun with another new car owner (BMW M3). He flew by, I caught up to him and we went for it. I stayed at a conservative speed, but when i looked, I was at about 135 mph. This car is going to be trouble. Lucky me, my wife already took over the G

Future plans include:
-Apexi WS2 catback exhaust
-Plenum spacer
-Headers
-Cobb AccessPort
-Some nice wheels (haven't decided which ones)
-Lower w/ either coilovers or springs

I am open to suggestions. I will be moding as I learn more. Pictures coming soon...
