Hi. My name is Billy. I live in central Florida, east of Orlando. I recently picked up my 2004 G35.
For the last four years, I've been driving this. It's the longest I've ever owned a vehicle and I have no desire to get rid of it, but it just wasn't working for me - I have two kids in elementary school this year and making two trips to pick them up just wasn't working out so well, especially since there are newer speed bumps on the road into (and out of) the school grounds...I scraped on all of them.
So, I decided to pick up a cheap beater. But, I'm picky and just had to have something RWD with a manual trans, which really limited my choices. So, I reconsidered the whole "cheap" and "beater" thing and bought the G. It's currently serving as my daily and my original intent was to leave it stock, but before I even went to look at it I was already pricing exhaust and suspension parts. I'm sure I'll do something with it, but I'm in no rush. I have some more learnin' to do about the G before I really start doing anything to it.
Anyway, here's a pic of the G the day after I brought it home...took the kids to a nearby park as an excuse to go out and take a few pics of the car.

Thanks for the welcome.
I have seen that there is a decent number of Floridians on here...been lurking since shortly before I got my G. I tend to lurk and search far more than I actually post.
Funny thing is, I've never been fond of red cars. The G is the 14th car I've had, not counting any we've had for my wife, and it's the first red car I've ever I've ever owned. I had seen this car online, but I didn't have it on my list of cars to look at (because it's red). After being disappointed by the cars on my list, I decided to go take a look at this one. I guess it was love at first sight. I originally figured I'd get it painted a different color, but the red has grown on me.
I'm in Brevard county...Port St. John, specifically.
I can do that...

*Not all the pics in that set are pics of the car
I intend to take some more pics when I can. Between work, school, and family, it's often difficult to find time for picture taking.

I just got it on the 17th, haven't really had time to do any damage.
But, in the week and half that I've had it, it's been washed about four times...stupid love bugs.
I guess my original post may be easily misunderstood, specifically where I stated:
Since I just linked "this" to a picture of my former daily driver, I can see how it may be overlooked. So, to clarify, here's the pic of my former daily driver (which now spends most of its days sitting at home in the garage):

And here's a pic of my wife's VQ40DE-powered ride, the Pathfinder (this was the day my Miata came home from getting its new paint job; that's my mother-in-law's Frontier):

Know of any other G owners in the area? Any local G owners get together out this way, or would Orlando be the nearest? Since I'm new to the G, I'd like to meet up with someone with a little knowledge so they could give my car a little once-over and tell me what, if anything, seems wrong (or different).
Thanks - I love my Miata...and the G is growing on me.
I'm on the UCF campus four days a week (actually, two days and two evenings each week). I have seen a few Gs on and around campus.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums my friend. Im located in Orlando we have a big following here. The only person I know out east would be Rastaman. Would be great to meet you one day. If you would like go to the Florida G Club section in the groups section of the forum and check around there for the newest meets we have posted. Congrats on the new ride.
