New here! 03 OB coupe
hey guys!
I just recently picked up a 03 obsidian black g35, and decided to join the forums here. So far this seems like a pretty good community and I've already learned quite a bit from reading random threads and stuff around here. This place also definitely helped me pick the right g to buy, and what to look for/ expect when i was looking around for cars these past few weeks. But anyways onto the car!
This is not my first fast/nice car, and im no stranger to modifying cars or working on them either. I've also driven a few drag races and drift events, and i am definitely planning on sliding the g sometime in the future.
Heres some quick stats about the car
03 obsidian black g35
JWT lightened flywheel and clutch
slight window tint
and lowered on springs (tien S-tech i think?)
350z wheels
Here's a picture of my other car, that i still am working on slowly while the g will be the daily driver for me.

Its a 1968 dodge charger that I've owned for a few years, and i picked up when i was about 16 i think. I have done almost all the modifications on it myself, and i still have a number of plans for it since i'm not even close to finished with it haha.
Heres a picture of the g35 on a scenic back road i took the way back from picking it up!

So far i absolutely love the car, and i cant seem to stop wanting to drive it haha. The car had a few little problems, but the first thing i did was use a powerball mini and scratch-x to help remove the oxidation/fading on the headlights.

That helped a bit, but didn't completely cure the yellowish headlights, so eventually i will probably pick up a set of new ones.
Next i drove on the 350z wheels it came with for a few days, but i eventaully wanted to try to fit the wheels from the charger shown above onto it. I knew the offsets where good, and would fit, but i wansnt quite sure if the Disk of the wheel would be large enough for the brembos.
I put the rears on, and they fit fine, with no problems other than some rubbing.

But as i went to try the fronts later, i realized the disk of my wheels was way too small, and the calipers hit the wheel. So i tried a 25 mil spacer, which worked, but pokes waayyyyy to much at the hieight and camber settings its at. So maybe someday they will fit once its lowered and cambered in. heres a pic of the super mexi-poke:

So the future plans for this car are:
coilovers (undecided on brand yet)
painted front grill
debadged rear
install the wheels above (DPE R05)
camber kit(s)
and maybe some other random suspension stuff, im not sure yet.
thanks for looking!

That Charger is just awesome! Apply those principals to your G (with the proper offsets and disc's) hehe ...and you will be Top of the world in no time! Congrats on the pickup, always nice to see a fellow OB coupe!
Thanks guys, i definitely plan on applying the same principles to this car. Hopefully this car will have much better stance than the charger and handle a whole lot better too haha.
Does anyone have an idea of exactly how large the disk/pad of the wheel has to be to clear the stock brembos? I read that an R-disk is needed which is about 25mm, but i want to use the smallest spacer possible, and with the 25mm spacer i had at least a few mm of clearance to the caliper.
