new guy from Iowa with a G35 (tons of pics inside)

Hey guys and gals,

My name is Josh and here is my little intro of my 04 G35. I have been surfing this site and my350z for months and months and I have never managed to post up a thread. I figured tonight I should change that and finally post some thing. I have owned a few Nissan's, But I was originally a Honda guy. I have owned qutie a few in the last 6 years. But I got tired of front wheel drive! So it was time to switch it up. I ended up buying a 92 240sx fastback. It ended up being to rusty to bother with. The next was my 95 240 with a sr20det with a built head and HKS cams in it along with a few other mods. I ended up trading it for a Bike mainly because every time I fixed something on it something else would break. Now I currently have my 04 G35 coupe. which I have put a decent amount of money and time into this year. I picked it up on Valentines day of this year. My future wife at the time (we are now married) was wiling to spend Valentines day driving 4hrs round trip to pick up my new toy! I was very fortunate to find a nice and well taken car of G35. It has all the options I wanted and was very well taken care of by and older gentleman I picked it up with 69k. Well here are some pictures of my old 240sx and some pictures of my G35.

A picture when i picked up the 240.

the engine bay. not pretty but it got the job done.

I bought the 240 as a non-running car in Green Bay. ended up buying it for half the asking price sense it didnt start that day. this car was more of a pain in my butt than anything. but it was fun.

Now on to my G35.

driving back the night I got it which was Valentines day by the way. and yes my wife is that awesome when it comes to my car hobby/ addiction.

first pictures on a slope so the ride height looks even worse.

Then the modding came. first was a MotorDyne 5/16 plenum spacer.

the car came with the aem intake. I wasn't a fan but it will get the job done.

then the addition of the Alpine screen with the JDM DD and all the supporting parts.

next up were the 350z Eibach prokit springs and 20% tint on the rear windows and 30% on the front

This kept me happy for a few more months but I wanted more power and always wanted to see what a supercharged car was like. Sold my Gsxr 750 and ordered a new Vortech V3 supercharger, Walbro 255 pump, 600cc Deatsch Werks injectors, upgraded 3.12 pulley and Uprev Tuner by Osiris. I bought all brand new parts because I wanted everything to be nice and perfect.

alll installed with some help from a few of my buddies and some beer. I also have a JDM battery cover it wasn't installed in this picture

a few days later a friend and I headed up to DBPerformance for a tune.

Strapped down on the dyno

Shane at DBPerformance worked his magic and I left very very happy considering how close to stock my car is minus the Vortech setup. If you are close to Minneapolis and looking for a great tune I would definitely suggest DBPerformance and now the dyno sheets.

how it sits as of right now.

So far this car has been a blast to own and drive! I can't wait to get some more money saved up for full exhaust and some nice wheels and tires. along with many many other parts haha.

19 Enkei RPF1's in either SBC or silver. for the front I was thinking 19x9 and for the rear 19x10 with a 22mm offset all around. but I have also considered doing a square setup with 19x10 my main reasoning for the RPF1's is the weight savings/price. and I have always loved the RPF1's for their clean and simple design.

How do you like the blower? Every Supercharged g video I watch doesn't seem a whole ton faster than stock, but at 390 whp, I would have to think otherwise.

Nice car though!

It is much quicker thank stock. I will run it at the track this spring and find out how much faster. I'm hoping for high 12s. which should be very possible as long as I can get my 60ft time where I want it and not have traction issues lol. right now it spins all through first and most of second. It a whole different car. the power is great and very useable.

Looks great.

I think getting 06 parts (headlights, tails, sport bumper) and the new rims would set it off.

I couldn't agree more! except I may go with the Nismo bumper or the Kuruma Z bumper. and the newer style spoiler for the trunk. but at the moment I have to remodel my house haha. and the wife said that takes priority.

Hey, thanks man. My wife is pretty good about it haha. I'm currently trying to convince her that it needs a set of wheels lol.
