Potential G35 owner with some questions
Potential G35 owner with some questions
Hey everyone,
I'm in the market for an 03-04 G (price range) and just thought I'd join and see if all the other G owners are happy with what they got. I'm paying off my modded 02 Subaru WRX, and trading it in for a G35.
But, some of the typical questions when buying a used car are:
What is the avg lifespan of the motor? What should I be looking for/listening for when buying? What are the avg repairs? Etc....
I have a coworker that used to work for Nissan and said they were junk. I personally think they are gorgeous cars and from what I have read on reviews from other owners, they are a blast to drive...when they are on the road and not in the shop. I was a mechanic for several years, so brakes and nut and bolt work i'm fine with. I'm just weary of work where it has to be brought to the dealer.
But aside from those questions, I look forward to buying on and have already spoke to the shop that worked/works on my Suby and was informed they work on G35's too
Thanks and I look forward to posting pics of my new ride soon

Welcome to the forum.
In my experience, the G35 is a great car. Gave me no issues at all when I owned one.
There's plenty of people here with high miles, so they'd have to pitch in. I think the car is reliable. It is a Nissan after all. You will hear people complaining and that's just bad luck. Happens on all cars.
I came from a G35 coupe, and currently drive an 03 Evo right now. I've been looking to get back into a G35.

Welcome to the boards bro. I just sold my G and brought a Z...You can get 150k plus out of a motor if it is properly taken care. things you mainly want to check for though when buying are window motors, door lock actuators, make sure the cd changer works and then small things such as compression rods and tires. Those are the most common issues but they are relatively inexpensive.
