Just bought a beautiful blue G35!

. I just didn't know if this was typical with these cars due to their low quality paint jobs.
Though I still think the chipping is strange... I have owned a 96 cavalier, 99 cavalier, and 99 crown vic, none of which had any paint chipping whatsoever (well except for the rust spots). Paint fade, yes for sure, especially the GMs
. I guess it's just a roll of the die, depending on how the previous owner drove it, and where.

Welcome to DRIVER, nice coupe! Any car with you're kinda mileage will have chips or worse. Adding a clear coat is expensive and may not give you the results you want, for a few $$ more you could get it repainted....Gary
You might be able to clay bar or buff those a little and pull some of the black out.
