How to tell the difference between a V35 and V36?

Hi,
I have an 07 G35x sedan. I see reference on this site to a V35 vs. a V36 model. How do I tell which I have? is it based on Serial number - i.e. month of manufacture?
Thanks,

as far as I know..the V36 started with the new model year in 07...a more rounded rear end vs. the flat trunk
