New Owner '06 G35 Sedan in Idaho
Hey everybody,
I picked up my 2006 G35 Sedan two weeks ago from a local dealership in Boise, ID.
It's silver, black interior w nav, 102k miles. So far I really like this car, it had a few gaskets replaced before I picked it up (around the oil pan and exhaust) and it had a burning smell coming in through the vents after being on the freeway. I took it back to the mechanic and he put it up on the lift and showed me what he replaced and said the smell is most likely residual oil left on the block and it should go away and if not, bring it back. It is mostly gone, but with the heater full blast after being on the freeway for less than 10 miles (my morning commute) it has a little bit of the funk left. I suppose I will take it back to him next week if it persists.
A little bit about me, I had an '89 & '85 MR2 back when I was a single guy, followed by a couple of Accords and then an '06 Mazda6. My wife and I got a killer deal from her grandparents on their '04 Lexus RX330 (bought it brand new, 39k miles, nearly perfect). I was planning on driving it daily, but after a few weeks I decided that was not the best fit for me, I like driving a car, not an SUV. I started taking the Mazda, but I was not a big fan of it. I test drove a couple of G35s and knew this was the car for me. It's got what I want; power, style, luxury (for me anyway) and can still fit my wife and kids.
I am not sure if there is an owner's club here in Idaho, but if there are any members give me a shout out!
Here she is, not much of a picture, I will take some better ones when I find the time.
