Prospective G coupe owner- Atlanta
Hey everyone!
So at the moment I own and drive a 2007 Honda Civic (barely modded) and it's a great first car, but now I'm ready for something different; as a kid I grew up loving the G series because a few of my friends and a few of my brother's friends have owned them and from what I've heard, they're great cars. I have a few reasons why I'm ready for this change: I am a little older and a more mature driver than I used to be a year ago; my brother just bought a fabulous new sports car(3.8 genesis coupe gt); my dad just bought an 06 m35 and I love it; and of course the biggest reason is because I've always loved the g35 coupe. Also, about 6 months ago I was about to buy an 03 caribbean blue g35 coupe with 89k miles on it but the loan wasn't approved under my name so I didn't get it. I have listed my civic on the 8thcivic forum and now I am just waiting for a buyer. My question the g35driver members is: is it a good idea for me to buy a 2003-2005 g35 coupe with over 100k miles? My budget is about $6000-$8500 cash - I am a full time college student with a part time job. What are some things I need to watch out for on these cars with over 100000 miles? Is there anyone you know in the Atlanta area who is selling their g35 coupe in that range (I'm looking for something with a black interior and automatic transmission, also one with a spoiler would be nice). I've been looking through the classifieds and the forum marketplace and I haven't found one in my area in that price range so if someone could point me to one that would be great. Thanks!

With $6000-8500 cash, you may be better off finding a 350z. Slightly cheaper if you don't mind the lack of rear seats. But with that budget, you may have a hard time finding a clean looking one. I would stick with something else for now. The costs to maintain a car at 100k + miles may catch you by surprise and drain your wallet even further.
New Owner in Atlanta
So yesterday I got a G, and it's red, and it's gorgeous, and it is my favorite car
Glad to finally be a G owner! I've heard g35driver is a great forum and I hope to become a part of the community!

Thanks! Well I'm coming from an 07 civic with a few mods, but the G is already great stock. I'm not too sure about many mods but I do know that I want to get a new radio that has Bluetooth and auxiliary input because I don't want to keep making CD's and I wouldn't be able to use my Spotify account much with out it. Also one of the wheels does have a little curb rash so I'm thinking of painting them either white, black, or gunmetal grey (opinions on that?) One more thing I want to get is a proximity sensing alarm, my friend has it in his M3 and it keeps people from hitting it with their doors and whatever else. Besides that I think I want to keep it stock, because I don't really race and it's already fast enough for my purposes

I live in Atlanta, Georgia. Bought the G from united BMW in Roswell - great people.
Welcome. I'm in the Dunwoody area, and there's a fairly large group of Atlanta G people. Hope to see you around.
