New Youngin'

Hello all, About a week ago i purchased my 3rd vehicle, a desert platinum 2004 g35x. I'm young, probably younger than 95% of the people on here.. But I'm eager to learn about the Infiniti scene , seeing as i have just come from the world of modified hondas *shudder* to which i will most likely never return. Anyway, 100% stock right now, with rims ordered and on the way, and plans for light suspension and exhaust modfication in the forseeable future. (If you have any suggestions for a nice, fairly inexpensive exhaust setup please don't hesitate to inform me). Looking forward to learning about the Infiniti world

Thank you for the suggestion! oh don't i know it. my first car (that is now up for sale) was a 99 civic ex- good and reliable but boring. second was a 2002 civic si with about 3500 dollars into performance parts-fun to drive but nothing but problems. So now its great to have a reliable car that has way more guts than any honda in stock form. Now i know that with the addition of an intake on any car, a tune is recommended for best gains. Do you know which tune is preferable for a daily driver (if there are any). Thanks!

Welcome to the family classy. You've made a big step up from the Honda world and if you treat your new girl well she'll return the favor. By far the best tune is called Osiris made by UpRev. Get all your breather mods done before you tune, ie. intake, exhaust, plenum spacer and HFCs or the famous ART pipes if you are going that route. Osiris is a very versatile re-flash of the ECU and does a lot of good things for the motor other than making more power.

Our cars are well tuned from the factory so even with all of the above don't expect massive gains, the only way you'll make big power is to go turbo or supercharged and that get's expensive quick.

You seem to be fairly mature for such a young 'un and we respect that. Familiarize yourself with the forum rules and spend a lot of time reading through the forum, it has a wealth of information for you. Enjoy your new ride and enjoy your stay at Driver, we're glad to have you.

Welcome. If you're on your 3rd car, you probably are not that young. Most people joining are very young anyways.

Thank you for all the info about the tune! very helpful. I don't want my car to be the fastest g35 sedan around, I just want to make it stand out and reflect my personal style. Oh, I'm a senior in high school btw (=

There are quite a few 16-18 year old Honda kids here. Even more mid 20s who act like 18 year old honda kids.

One of the main reasons I really got tired with the Honda scene. Way too many immature D-bags lol. I mean there are D-bags involved with any car scene, but the JDM world has the highest concentration, most likely.

A good day on a bike is better than a great day in a car.
