Newbie G35 owner

Just wanted to introduce myself. I just purchased a 2006 G35 coupe. I put about 2000 miles on the car the first three days I had it! I bought it in Knoxville, TN and drove it all the way back to Grand Junction, CO. Great trip, lots of fun through the Rockies. So far, I can easily say it's probably the best car I've ever owned. I've already found a ton of useful information on this forum, so I'm sure I'll probably be spending a lot more time here than I would like to admit. Thanks! -Travis

Here's a couple of quick phone pics I took before and during the trip.

Your a psycho to take a used car you just purchased on a road trip ! What if something went wrong? Well nice looking car, looks well kept and welcome to the forum. I recommend the following post to all new members as it can help you get settled in to what we do here (modify & flame others).

I am assuming this is the automatic coupe? If it is the 6 Speed manual transmission (6MT), then read up on 06-07 coupe oil consumption.

Welcome to the G class...

Welcome to our dysfunctional little family! Congrats on your new toy and definitely read through the forum. Be careful because when the mod bug bites a lot of us, there's no turning back lol.

Thanks! I'm originally from TN and have family there, so I had the car checked out, and a little bit to look it over before setting out. I do have to admit, it was a great way to get to know the car

It's a 6MT. I've been reading up on the oil consumption, and atleast for the moment, it seems to be all good. Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely keep an eye on it!

The Dragon is a great drive! It's been a few years, but I've driven it in a few cars back in the day. I didn't have time to go that far east when I picked up the car, had to visit family then start back west. Thanks, I love it so far!

Thanks! I'm looking forward to messing with it... I have a bad habit of modifying EVERYTHING I drive, but I'm hoping I can keep it stock for atleast a little while.

It was a long drive, but the car was flawless, and driving over the Rocky Mountains was a ton of fun

Hi Travis, "Welcome to Driver!" Great looking coupe (a word of advice) leave it that way! Once you start messing with front bumpers etc. there's no place to stop. Like you I've never owned any car I haven't modified. My last Z I ordered wheels/exhaust/intakes on the way home from the dealership, with no regrets. Enjoy the ride, but you already have been!
Gary
