Back in a G and couldn't be happier
Back in a G and couldn't be happier
I traded in my 06 coupe about 3 1/2 years ago for something to get around in the winter. I have always been a mustang nut and have owned 4 stangs but I happened to take a G for a test drive before test driving an 06 GT. The mustang felt like driving a tank & the wheel hop from the live axle became more evident. Needless to say I fell in love with the G's combination of style, handling, balance and performance.
This spring I was looking at buying a Harley for something fun to drive, but my heart kept telling me look for another G. I searched for a few months and came across an 07 5 AT coupe black on black. She was a one owner with a clean car fax and 67k on the clock. She had some surface scratches that were touched up but was straight, under coated, rustproofed and ran strong.
So far I've added a Stillen CAI & Z tube, clear corners, replaced the splash guards (original had a hole the size of a golf ball) and had it polished and detailed. I will be installing a grounding kit as soon as it comes in.
Future plans: Stillen exhaust, maybe rims, I will do something with the intake I love the look of the Kinetix, but after reading your reviews it seems that the looks are there but not the performance. Will also get a pro to fix the hack job touch up work that the previous owner or dealership did. You have to look to find them but my OCD knows they exist.
Also plan on leaving her in the garage when it rains and snows.
