Got a few questions for whoever can answer, my brother was told from a tuning shop in my area that putting an aftermarket exhaust will cause a loss of power, Im curious if this is true or he said that because he's gonna be a hater if I do put one on it. However if this is true what are all my options for getting a little more sound out of stock exhaust, other then muffler delete?
also could use some opinions on aftermarket halo headlights. Most Ive seen are cheap looking and I don't want to buy any junk if any one could recommend a brand that would be awesome.. anyway here's some recent pics i had on hand

 

Welcome to the G community!!! No that is not true. you will gain power by an after market exhaust. Which brand were you looking at?

 

Joe Since you're from jersey and we got the same color I'll let you in on a secret lol. Those headlights you mentioned are complete shitt. Save your money towards OEM projectors or option #2, take them to Lightwerkz in Oakland and have them retrofit projectors or halos and anything else you could ever want. They do great work. Put on a quality exhaust. Maybe he's talking about some garbage brand. This will also play into account so as to not have less rasp and/or drone.

 

exactly what i thought.. And ill def have to keep that in mind. How much would something like that run me if you know off the top of your head?

 

From what i heard is that the car is tuned to perfection and that with an aftermarket exhaust the computer will not read correctly or some bullshit like that my brother told me..
I just recent got the G, coming from an Acura TL with the ATLP Quad Cat back exhaust. I havent looked to much into exhausts yet. Just looked up muffler deletes. I want it a bit louder/ aggressive but I dont want to much drone or anything obnoxiously loud.
Any recommendations?

 

my buddy paid about $350 for TSX lenses, painting housings, led strip and halos in his impreza. Granted they already came with projectors. Pick up some TSX or fxr projectors. They're usually pretty easy to find. Total price for everything is hard to say..

For a used exhaust off the marketplace prob in the $700-800 range

I like the sound if fast intention or ark. They are not loud at all. Yes the car is perfectly tune stock, but w/ the right bolt ons there is room for improvements in HP.

 

Welcome to G35 Driver Xraided! With friends like your brother who needs enemy's, must be a Honda/BMW driver. Quality exhaust system will give you WHP gains but the most restriction in our exhaust system is the OE cats, replacing with HFCs will give you another 8 hp. Quality exhaust, Search using subject "best exhaust" there's a weeks worth of opinions on this subject. Headlights, '06 projectors are your best option!
