08 G35x from CT
Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum, well kind of.. i've been lurking for a little while now
My name is Tim, im 24 and from Connecticut
I just purchased an 08 G35x at 49k miles and i love it so far, my old car was a 00 mercury cougar that i had for 7 years. The G is like driving in a completely different world compared to the cougar haha and the AWD will be so new to me this winter as ive been driving a FWD for the past 7 years
I've had the car for a month now so i've only started off doing a few small mods, i worked as an auto body painter for 6 years and recently got into the powdercoating field and i professionally detail cars on the side so this car is lucky it fell into the right hands!
So far all i have done is
Debadge the trunk except for the infiniti emblem
Black out the back emblem and chrome deck lip
Black out the front grill
I sanded down the taillights and taped off the reverse lights and brought them to my old shop and got them tinted the right way, we mixed black tint with a clear base, sprayed a few coats until we got the desired darkness, peeled off the tape masking the reverse light and then applied two good wet coats of clear on top
I also just this past weekend took my headlights apart and painted the chrome satin black using SEM Trim black, i followed G35Papa's DIY here on the forums and they came out amazing! i was weary about putting my brand new headlights in the oven but i was very confident in my abilities to do a good job seeing how many other people have also done it
Im currently saving up to get some wheels and coilovers but thats a big purchase so im taking my time with it, i want to ride out this winter first and look to installing them next spring
I also want to pick up a rear diffuser and front lip soon, ive noticed that there is slim pickins for an 08 sedan haha
Thanks for checkin me out and im glad to be here!
i dont have many pics of my car yet but here are a few of the cosmetic changes i mentioned

Whats up Tim,
I'm also coming from the Boston and New Haven, CT areas so I know how much that AWD will come in handy for our nasty winters. G35 looks nice man but I have to agree with jerseytaylor, the tailight tints are a bit overkill. Front looks dope tho.
