Plans are: Tint, up the wheels to 18" (suggestions welcome), exhaust. This is my first nice car and am new to upgrading/modding so any tips or suggestions would be appreciated
I'd go with 20's (they look much better on our cars) tint, exhaust, transgo shift kit, Akebono G37s brake upgrade, high flow cats, cross drilled rotors, debadge everything but the infiniti emblem, 245 35 r20's in front and 275 30 r20's on the rear, double din head unit with upgraded stereo, quaife limited slip diff, rear diff finned diff cover, whiteline diff bushings, Tanabe NF210 lowering springs upgrade to h.i.d's (if necessary) Nismo front and rear bumper with side skirts black grill with chrome infinit emblem, plenum spacer. That's for starters. Welcome to the family.
How much of that is basic enough for someone with limited experience working on cars to do? I have experience working on electrical as well as mechanical equipment for buildings and have access to a lot of tools.
Depending on your offset. You shouldn't have to modify your wheel wells to fit this tire size. A plenum spacer allows more air to enter your cylinders those improving horsepower. A Transgo shift kit (only for automatic transmissions) improves the shifts of your transmission making it more responsive giving crisper shifts and making your car a little quicker and lively some say it helps to extend the life of your transmission as well. As blue devil said you can see some of these benefits in action via youtube. I would look into the private classifieds to see if someone has something your looking for, for sale at a decent price but, in excellent condition be careful some sell used parts for almost the same as a new one why buy used when you can get it new for a few more dollars. There are vendors on here that have a lot of what you're looking for. Use the search engine and type in progression threads to see how some sedan owners have traveled the road you're now on. Why rack your brains trying to figure what works when so many other owners have already laid the foundation for you.
