in the market for a g coupe very soon

I have been lurking for a good month to get to know more about the g35's. I am getting a new car in the next month or 2, and i want a 03-07 g coupe. I will be coming from a 11 mazda 3 sedan.
from what ive gathered the coupe is a pretty reliable car, except for usual maintenance stuff.

just saying whats up, and trying to get more feelers on the year and mileage i should be looking for..

yea thats what i want, but here most of the coupes with less than 75k miles are 14gs and up. not trying to spend that much, but if i find one around 90-100k for a nice price, ill jump on that asap.

A lot depends on the market, too and how much time you have. I only had 3 weeks to find one, so my choices were slim (wanted 06+ 6MT Coupe and <45,000mi). I paid a premium for mine.

If you go with an 03-04, they will be cheaper. Major updates on the newer models include mild engine mods (~5% more power), bixenon headlights, updated taillights, updated interior, and minor aero changes. You can pretty much do all of those mods yourself if you care enough to do it, but if you just like the body style you can probably find an 03-04 in the range you want. If you dont mind an automatic sedan, that would be your best bet... manual transmissions and coupes are more sought after as well, so their prices will be higher.

i got about a month or 2. hopefully sooner. def looking for a coupe, but auto vs MT doesnt matter as much. the nicest one for the best price is the one ill get.
ill do all mods and maintenance myself. first thing i will do is a retrofit with the headlights. i do that with all my cars i get.

Check out this G I found for sale, looks like a good deal if you offer a couple g's below what he's asking.

I found out it's from an interior theft, so the dude actually replaced most of the interior with newer parts !

Not a bad deal, but check it out CLOSELY.

He's claiming "Excellent Condition" with a front bumper that doesnt line up with the left fender.... Either that guy doesnt know what the criteria for "excellent" is or he's got a warped view.

"Brand new tires 285mm in the rear and i believe 255 in the front." I believe?? Seriously, quit being lazy and go outside and look. I'd ask him to measure the tread... actually with this guy, I'd want pics of each tire to see where they are worn.

I'd ask for pics of the interior for sure. He's talking about an aftermarket headunit... I'd wonder how it was installed, did they get the DoubleDIN? Still the price isnt bad.

And wait, WTF... did he photoshop that same car behind it? I'd worry he swapped all the good parts off of the one he's selling to fix up the one behind it, but it seriously looks like the same car.

^ If it's super clean and what you said above, I personally wouldn't mind spending that...especially if it's bone stock.... That's just me though... If your not worried about money an 05 for that much that's super clean and bone stock like I said would be worth it for me...it's all about having the funds to take care of these beauties that hurt the people that can't afford them.... Oh yeah and if your spending between $13k-$14k it better be a manual....

Yea if it's clean it don't mind paying around that either. I'll at least have 8gs for a down payment. The cheaper would have been better, but now I'm leaning towards a nice quality one that might be a lil more expensive.
Maintenance won't be a problem. I work on all my own cars. I am an automotive tech. Graduated 3 months ago. Still learning in the field, but there isn't anything I couldn't do. Just wish I had a lift.

Don't settle on a 03-04 coupe, only look for 05+ and also don't settle for an auto if it's not what you want....if you feel it's missing something then just wait it out and another will come along,
Yes, those will be a bit more pricy but worth it for the upgrades and a little more peace of mind.
