Hi guys, newbie here from ME

Hello everyone. Im new to the forums, and new to the platform. Im in the process of buying a friend's G35 Coupe. We autocross together and I got a chance to race it this past weekend's "local" 1.5 mile long autocross up by the Canada border. He mentioned it was for sale. And I had so much fun in it that I inquired about it and the price is right. So Im jumping on it.

Its a Silver '04 Coupe with the Brembos and 6mt, 75k on it and has seen 2 months of winter. Very clean car with some history of a minor rear end collision. It currently has Cusco front camber arms, manifold spacer, Takeda intake, Godspeed front sway bar, new OE clutch, hypertech tuner, OE 18x8s and some replica 18x9.5/18x10.5s with nittos.

My current autocross car is a '08 Mazda 3 in STF. Before that was a 400whp stripped '05 Evo in SM. I sold the Evo this past winter and been on the look out for a fun RWD car. In the meantime I set up my daily Mazda 3 to hold me over. The Mazda has been doing really well locally. But Im not sure Ive ever had as much fun as I did in the G35.

He's running it in STU and thats probably where I will leave it for the time being. Maybe some struts and little stiffer springs, stickier 200tw tires and a cat back eventually.

Trying to work it out to pick it up this weekend.

Couple pictures. I believe the front shot is the stock 18x8s. The other is the 18x9.5/18x10.5 setup.

He said rear end was painted due to minor accident. I dont think the front has been painted. I may end up painting it at some point. Its going to kill cones on a regular basis, so Im not too worried about it. I certainly left some marks on it Sunday! ha

Picked the car up on Saturday. Gave it a wash, clay bar, light polish and a wax. Took it down to the Old Port yesterday with the family and snapped a couple pics. Need to get out to some better locations and get more. It was crowded everywhere.

Im loving this thing. Love the noises. Love the vibrations. Feels like a muscle car and brings me back to my mustang days. Rides like a 11 year old suspension, but thats easy to fix and already on the list anyways. 1st is probably going to be an exhaust. For now, Im just planning to eat these tires up at the rest of our local autocross events and enjoy it. It will get the full STU prep over the winter.
