Not all that new to G life, bought a 2011 G37 IPL 6MT coupe last August. However I did just pickup 2004 G35 6MT Coupe with brembo's. Always preferred the look of rear of the G35.
Anyway I bought the car for a few reasons, one the price was right (or so I hope that may still need to be determined). I got it for $2500 Canadian. There are a few issues, its a rebuilt title, exhaust is leaking at the Y pipe where it meets the cats, small chunk of the bumper cover is broken owner said it happened pulling into a steep parking garage, the standard control arm clunk, oh and then there is an overheating issue.
Previous owner thought he needed a new RAD, his dad thought there was a leaky hose somewhere because the coolant level was dropping. Coming from the Supra world that made me think BHG right away. My buddy who I always bring with me to look at cars (because I get excited and will buy anything lol) says looking at the oil cap and exhaust hes pretty sure as well, I am not 100% sure but its the first thing I am going to check out when I pickup the car tomorrow. Oh yes also needs front break pads. Anyway for $2500 I didn't think any of it was potentially a deal breaker it has around 76,000 miles / 125000KM.
So while it is a laundry list of stuff to fix I have the exhaust parts already (buddy upgraded his G35 coupe recently so I have his oem), Since it was going to be a track car, I had already planned on replacing pads/rotors. Really the only concern is the overheating/BHG.
Anyway happy to be hear love the cars myself and have convinced two other friends to buy G's.
The car is White, and at night looks like it has some Pearl to it.
We drove that car hard last night, and could not get it to budge the heat gauge, I think perhaps not a BHG after all. More testing required of course, but feeling better about the deal all the time.
Welcome to the forum! Congrats on your new G, it looks beautiful. A lot of good info here regarding mods in case you are thinking of doing any. Check out some of the garages and you may get some ideas. Safe driving and Happy Modding!
