new to group - "upgrading" from coupe to sedan
new to group - "upgrading" from coupe to sedan
Hi all,
I wanted to introduce myself here, as I'm new and also looking to sell my coupe for a sedan G35. If there should be a separate post in classifieds, please forgive me if I'm stepping on any toes and delete this post if you must.
I've been extremely happy with my coupe and am expecting a similar experience owning a sedan version of the "same" car. In your experience, is there anything that is such a significant difference in performance/reliability/etc that should deter me from a 35 and make me reconsider to the 37 instead? Please check me if my expectations are all wrong. I am going for a 4 door only because I have a 2 year old and need a car that is more practical and will fit a car seat, but still retain some sportiness.
Appreciate any input you guys have. Look forward to sticking around a while.
In case any of you are looking for a MINT coupe, here's a perfect specimen -->

Thanks again!

I liked having both the sedan and the coupe. Are you looking at the 08+ G37 sedan or the 05-06 sedan or 07 sedan for clarification. Obviously the 07+ ones are the new body style. If you like that inferior style that would be the breaking point for me... interiors are everything.

I was looking into the later model G35 sedans but would also consider a G37. Heck, the older 05-06 would be fine if in tip top shape and low miles. Basically I'm looking for a super nice, reliable Infiniti that I'll feel somewhat familiar in, but has 4 doors.
Both would probably suit you well then buddy. The G37's interior is much nicer and features a more advance seat, steering wheel controls, back up camera, etc.
Not sure of replacement parts on the later G35's but the 1st gen G35 has the same problems the coupes do (brakes, rotors, Oil Consumption, cam/crank sensors, trunk not opening due to frayed wiring).
I sat in a coupe and new the G was the right one for me. I even thought about downgrading.
When I was looking insurance only gave me a month and it had to be from a dealership to get tax/title/tags fees covered. I couldn't find the 6MT I wanted, but I found the G35 coupe in my favorite color and interior mix and couldn't say no (6MT).

Thanks for the feedback Urban. I haven't experienced ANY issues on my '04 with close to 50k miles. I guess that's why I'm looking for another. I'm not that concerned with a super modern interior. I guess in the end I'm looking for the best "deal". Appreciate the input, and glad to hear you dig yours!
